We'd like to introduce you to ... the Indiana Appaloosa Association, Inc.

The IAA is extending to you an invitation to join us in the many activities of this highly regarded Regional Appaloosa Horse Club. You'll find an application for membership here if you would like to join us! Please print the form and send it with payment to the IAA secretary, Janice Connor.

The IAA was founded in December 1956 by Mr. Harold Tyner, now deceased, and 10 other enthusiasts for the promotion of the Appaloosa breed in the Midwest.

The IAA now has more than 350 members, from more than 6 states. The growth of the IAA can be attributed to many things, but a real commitment to the Appaloosa breed by is the most recognized reason for club growth. Also, the IAA has many activities and events throughout the year, keeping members interest peaked.

These activities include:

• The IAA Halter Futurity will be held in September at New Castle, Indiana in conjunction with the Freedom Classic.  The rules for this event appear in the November and December issues of the newsletter. PLEASE NOTE: Deadline for the open weanling halter futurity mare nominations are due and must be postmarked by January 1!  We do offer day of show entries also!
• The IAA Stallion Service Sale is a wonderful way to purchase stallion services at discounted fees.  Save money & receive free entries into the open class at our futurity!
• Year-end awards for show participation are given out each year. The IAA gives out awards to those nominated in the IAA Year-end Awards classes, which include classes for Youth, Halter, Open and Non-Pro. High Point and Reserve are awarded in each group.
• The IAA also has an awards system for horses shown outside the approved ApHC show circuit. The IAA Open Show season runs from April to October 15. Nomination forms for this competition will appear in the newsletter.
• The IAA newsletter comes FREE to all IAA members. The newsletter includes a calendar of events, articles and opinion pieces, as well as ads from stallion owners, show and breeding service facilities and from those with horse-related goods for sale.
• And most of all IAA is PEOPLE -- just like you -- who love Appaloosa horse want to promote the breed. There are no strangers in the IAA, just friends we haven't met yet!
